Fairways: Rye |
| |
Greens: Bent |

Terrain: Soft hills, short course but small greens that will certainly give plenty of test
description = The course plays to 5,503 yards from the back tees with four par-3s and two par-5s (Nos. 1 and 18).
The par-3s are particularly scenic. Three of them play beautifully downhill and two are full carries over water. |
| |
Most of the 14 par-4s are short although Nos. 2 and 8 can stretch out to 400 yards. Several others can be reached with a precise drive.
The areas surrounding the greens provide plenty of short- game challenge and most of the greens have their share of undulation

The old farm terrain with its rolling hills and open fields seemed perfectly suited for a golf course, and was ideally located for use by people from Patrick and Henry counties.?
The course is located just off highway 58, 14 miles east of Stuart and 11 miles west of Martinsville. On the map, it?s in Spencer but it uses a Stuart address for postal service purposes. |
